Have a Question About Storytelling? Ask Me for Free

If you are working on something and wondering whether it may be a good fit, you can send a brief note through the contact page. This is an invitation to identify the appropriate next step, not a promise of free consulting or a guaranteed response.
I work with projects involving digital storytelling and personal or creative narratives; manuscript, book, and academic publishing or editing questions; healthcare, mental-health, and technology communication; filmmaking and media psychology; and interdisciplinary research storytelling. The point of an initial question is not to resolve everything at once. It is to see whether the work, the question, and the kind of support you may need belong in the same conversation.
You do not need perfect language to reach out. You can simply say what you are making, who it is for, what feels unclear, and what kind of help you are considering.
The Impact of Technology on Traumatic Experiences
One area I continue to examine is THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCES.
Digital tools can change how people encounter images, memories, testimony, and personal narratives. A camera, editing platform, virtual environment, or artificial-intelligence system may influence what is shown, what is omitted, how an experience is framed, and who controls the resulting story.
But the medium itself is not the therapist.
We can make filmmaking more therapeutic without turning filmmaking into therapy.
That distinction matters in my work across storytelling, media psychology, healthcare communication, and interdisciplinary research. Sometimes the most important question is not whether a project is impressive. It is whether it is asking the right thing, serving the right audience, and making assumptions its creator can no longer see from inside the work.
I am also the author and originator of the named FILM/VIDEO-BASED THERAPY™ framework. My work brings together filmmaking, psychology, storytelling, emerging technology, healthcare communication, and post-traumatic growth as areas of study and professional inquiry.
“I didn't erase my history. I changed what I made it mean.”
“Marvin → Joseph → Joshua is not a ladder of inherited authority.”
Your story matters, too. Bring your project. Ask better questions. Create with purpose.
